About Us

The curriculum here at God’s Cradle includes “The Creative Curriculum for toddlers” with an emphasis on kinetic learning (a hands-on approach).   This style of learning correlates with the Montessori style teaching. There are 7 Principles which is listed below.

1.PLAY IS WORK: We should take play very seriously as it is the way the child expresses him or herself.  Playing is the ultimate way of learning and that children

have a natural desire for knowledge that should be supported through the right

tools.

2. PREPAIRED ENVIRONMENT:  The prepared environment is an essential part of the this method.  It should be an environment where children can move freely

and act independently.  It should also be structured and have order. It may seem counter-intuitive to the "freedom of movement" but truth is (Toddlers love order and routine).

3. INDEPENDENCE:  This style of education leads to independence.  It encourages

exploration and teaches toddlers to take responsibility for themselves, their belongings

and the environment.

4.HANDS-ON-LEARNING: Children learn through experience.  From birth to the age of 6

the child is able to learn new things effortlessly and unconsciously, just by being in

the right environment and having opportunities to explore.

5.OBSERVATION: Raising children in this style means observing them carefully and

noticing what they are interested in. By observing the child, we can provide appropriate

activities and create an environment that will support the development of the skill they are currently focused on.

6. FREEDOM WITHIN LIMITS: This means we give them the opportunity to choose freely from the options we approved and that are good for them. We show respect to the way children decide to go.

7. RESPECT: This is also about mutual respect between child and parent.  It also means

that we understand that each child is a unique individual with his or her own needs, capabilities, and way of learning.

While we focus on these 7 principles listed above, we also emphasize learning through “enriched play” and exploration. When it comes to teaching, every child learns at his/her own pace, thus we encourage each child to explore and learn through hands on self-discovery. Our classroom has developmentally appropriate learning areas with enrichment activities that focus on the individual learning levels needed to build a solid foundation. Here is a list of activities
